Europe's longest housing estate is in Warsaw and it is called Beijing by the locals

This block of flats is the longest in Europe. Located in Warsaw it is 1230 m long. It is called Beijing by locals. The building was designed by the architects Oskar Hansen and Sophie Garlińska-Hansen, hence the common name of development Hansen. Designed in the years 1963 - 1969 and built in the years 1969 - 1974 consists of over 22 blocks with a height of 3-7 floors, the broken eight times at right angles, with a total area of 85 000 square meters of housing. It is home to approx. 7,000 residents.
